DIPS

Purpose: Dips are a fantastic exercise for developing both your chest and triceps. Beginners should just use their bodyweight as resistance but progressively add weight either by holding a dumbbell between your feet or by wearing a plate-loaded weighted belt. If you're unable to push your own weight, you can perform these on an assisted apparatus.

Muscles Involved:
Chest
Triceps

Hold yourself at arm's length above the bars.
Proceed to slowly lower yourself until your elbows are at 90 degree angles. Shown here is the midpoint of the exercise.

When you have reached the bottom, push yourself back up to the starting position. NOTE: The farther forward you lean, the more stress will be placed on your chest. If you remain more upright, the stress will be directed to your triceps at a greater degree.
